Information about Bohinj

Bohinj, Slovenia, Europe is located in the Julian Alps in the northwestern part of the country. Bohinj is a beautiful alpine valley region and the name refers to the entire area of the Sava Bohinjka basin, which is southwest of Bled. The Bohinj region covers much more than just the Bohinj Valley, the entire region is bordered by the Lower Bohinj Mountains to the south, the Sava River to the east and Triglay, the highest mountain in Slovenia, to the north. This area is easily recognized by two of its lakes, Lake Bohinj and Perigla Cial Lake.
