Bohinj is an alpine valley located in the north-west of
Slovenia.
Lake Bohinj is absolutely beautiful and has a lot of things to do. The lake itself is set in the
Julian Alps which rise up all around it. The water is clear and being surrounded by mountains and pine trees makes for such a spectacular setting which is quite difficult to find now-a-days. It's a great place for for climbing, hiking, sailing, or even taking a walk around. The noisiest things on the lake are the ducks! The fun part is feeding them.
Bohinj is a tranquil place so if you are looking for a somewhere to escape the loud noises of the city and the tourists attractions without going to far away, this is the ideal place.
The Julian Alps have views of the picturesque villages and amazing scenery which includes the homes that are surrounded by flowers . It's truly a breath-taking site. Take a steam engine car/train ferry ride through the alps and see how much fun it can be.
In winter
Bohinj offers good skiing possibilities. There are also three ski schools and equipment can be easily hired.
Bohinj is often visited by tourists as an add-on to Lake Bled, although
Bohinj is a destination in its own right. No matter what time of the year you visit
Bohinj, it's sure to be a beautiful and breath-taking experience.
